‘NIGHTMARE ISLAND’ RETURNS TO MARE ISLAND SHORELINE HERITAGE PRESERVE

Annual Halloween Haunt Fundraiser on the grounds of the historic Mare Island Ammunition Depot, in Vallejo, CA

Get ready to get scared for a good cause! If the Mare Island Shoreline Preserve wasn’t scary enough at night this time of year...come out to our annual "NightMARE Island" The last of our fall fundraisers, our 2018 schedule is - October 5-7, 12-14, 19-21, 26-28 & 31 Open from 5-9pm each evening. Your host again for the event - "The man with one foot in the world of the living and the other foot six feet under..." is THE UNDERTAKER, and he has so much planned for your visit! Attendees are encouraged to bring their own flashlights and come in costume. This is an all-ages event, though some of the attractions may be more suited to the 13 and older crowd, and they will be marked.

THIS YEAR:

This year there are two parts to the haunted house. Part 1 is approximately the same level of fright as last year. However, this year you will have the option to go on to our 'Extreme Terror' Pt 2! You must choose ahead of time, and NO ONE who initially says they do NOT want to go on to Pt 2 will be allowed to change their mind in the middle of the haunted house. You may always return to the haunted house, and this time sign off to experience Pt 2, this time around!!

*From 5-6pm there are NO scare actors in the haunted house, VERY LIMITED live animatronics, and NO actors roaming the property outdoors. This is for our younger guests and those who do not like having things jump out at them. 

*From 6-9pm there ARE scare actors & live animatronics in the haunted house, as well as actors roaming the property outdoors. At this time we are in FULL EFFECT!

*The Halloween Night Market will be open every night! Our crafters and sellers of the curious and odd… You know you still need those final (or maybe EVERYTHING) touches for Halloween - for your costume, for your home. Our great vendors will have lots of artistically and appropriately spooky items, curiosities, oddities, costume pieces and decorative items for purchase! So much cooler than any Big Box store...

*FOOD! COME HUNGRY! And not just for brains! We have food vendors on site.

*Costumes always encouraged & flashlights, too!

The Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Trust is a 501C3 non-profit, and this is the final fall fundraiser for the Preserve.

*This year again MOST of our haunted sets will be in one 5,000 sq ft building, “Haunt A-168.” A slew of new sights and frights for you to explore! 12 rooms this year!

Also every night:

*6:30pm - Historic Cemetery Tour with The Undertaker. Guided tour of the historic Mare Island Naval Cemetery, the Navy’s oldest cemetery in the Pacific, with graves dating back to the 1850's

*7:00pm - Special paranormal investigation tour with Soulseekers Paranormal Research

*8:30pm - Ghost Story Walk with Myrna Hayes, the Preserve’s Volunteer Park Manager

*Self-guided hike up the 1 mile-long paved trail to visit the Spirit Ship, at the highest point on Mare Island, and take in the 7-county twinkling view. 

*There will also be outdoor displays, and more than a few zombies to assist you if you happen to get lost.

Fri, Oct 5, Lord Blood-Rah's Nerve Wrackin' Theatre comes to NightMARE Island for a special presentation at 6pm! Lord Blood-Rah will present the original documentary "The Film that Built a Genre: Night of the Living Dead at 50." followed by the terrifying classic "Night of the Living Dead!" Plus trivia, prizes and more! Show begins at 6pm!

TICKETS –

You can buy advance tickets here or you can buy them at the gate. When you buy your ticket here in advance, you are buying 'timed tickets' (like a”Fast Pass” it,s ticket that allows you to go into the haunted house, at a particular time, and skip the general line) – great for busy times. If you buy your ticket ‘at the gate, when you get there, you may need to wait in line.

Both types of tickets also cover all the other things happening that night at Nightmare Island (except the Paranormal Investigation Tour, which is an additional $5, payable at the gate) - so that one ticket is all you need. We have lots of other tours, presentations, and frights in addition to the haunted house. Check the "Theme Nights" above!

TIMED TiCKETS - $20 each for timed entry (for the haunted house) tickets, per person, Age 6 & older. Children under 5, Free. "Family/Group Pack" - 4 tickets for $60. Your pre-purchase of tickets and club memberships help to put this great event on and support the year-round accessibility of the Preserve.

GENERAL ADMISSION - Age 6 & older, $15. Children under 5, Free. "Family/Group" Pack - 4 tickets for $45.

SEASON PASS - $75, per person, This ticket is good for admission as many nights as you would like to join us. It is per person, and non-transferable. $195 value. This pass is NOT for the timed ticket line.

VIP SEASON PASS - $140 per person. This ticket is good for admission as many nights as you would like to join us. It is per person, and non-transferable. $260 value. This pass IS for the timed ticket line. (Name on ticket will matched to photo ID)
